Pita Bread with Hummus

Jump to Recipe
Pita Bread with Hummus. Here's 9 delicious ways to eat pita bread

My kids loved their first try of pita pockets.  I don’t believe it’s that much healthier than other breads, but it does allow you to mix things up a bit, and experience different tastes and textures.

OK, so I was the only one who tried the pita bread with hummus. This time I got a garlic variety. It was really yummy.  Flip-flopper put ham and cheese in hers.  She loved it.  Ketchup boy tried some flavored cream cheese.  He said, “It doesn’t taste like anything. And when things don’t taste like anything, I don’t like it.”  Whatever that means. I think he just thought it was too bland for his hyper desire for all things sweet.  Cereal boy just had cheese in his and liked it a lot.

Yum! I have a recipe for hummus, but I’m still waiting for my food processor to arrive…maybe for Mother’s Day…okay, yeah right. Joel’s buying me new phones for our house for Mother’s Day. Maybe for my birthday…course then I’ll be ready for new fat girl clothes…maybe for Christmas…or, maybe not. Maybe I’ll have to come over and eat your hummus, because I really like it and I feel very chic and hip and with it when I eat it.

If you get the whole wheat pita it’s even better for everyone, and hardly tastes any different from the white flour version.

I love to do tuna melts in pitas with provolone cheese. My mom used to make them and I don’t think I’ve eaten one in a pita since I lived at home. Maybe I need to get some pitas!

Beth, new phones is at least something! Wade considers any holiday he believes was created by Halmark should not be supported in any fashion! mom, I do like the whole-wheat variety too. Liz, it’s funny cuz I think there is so much yummy food out there, we can literally go years without eating something we use to like.
