Irresistible Kid Friendly Dinner Salads
Irresistible Kid Friendly Salads
With these ideas for kid friendly, irresistible salads, I wanted to emphasize how important it is to include fruits and vegetables in yours. The new USDA 2010 dietary guidelines recommend half your meals should be fruits and vegetables, but sometimes dinner becomes a plate of cheesy pasta because you know the kids will eat it! So, with that in mind, these are the salads that I prep ahead and have in my fridge for anyone to eat. Whether it’s to add to a quick dinner, to eat as dinner itself, or a snack when you want to eat something healthy, these salads will become irresistible to your kids!
PASTA SALAD
So many pasta salads to choose from! We have 5 different pasta salads here, or one of my favorites here!
BROCCOLI SALAD
You can’t go wrong with broccoli salad! Almost every potluck we attend, we bring this recipe! – Traditional Broccoli Salad! This is also AMAZING, with a more citrus flavor to it! Loaded Broccoli Salad
PEPPER SALAD
A pepper salad marinating in some Italian dressing for a few days, is SO GOOD! This is the one we make most often.
CABBAGE APPLE SALAD or BROCCOLI APPLE SALAD
This one we used cabbage. The other one, we used broccoli slaw. Same recipe, just different greens. Both amazing!
POTATO SALAD
BEAN SALAD
CARROT AND PEA POLKA DOT SALAD
So. as you are planning meals, don’t forget the fruits and vegetables. Just like the benefits from eating dinner with your family, doesn’t have to exactly be dinner, any meal you use to make half of it fruits and vegetables will benefit your kids.

These look great Amy, love that they are all different. We just started adding more salads and homemade dressings to our dinners. The big surprise is my son likes it more then my girls. I found out they like to make their own so I put out little bowls of everything and let them make their own.
I love eating dinner as a family!! Your salads look delicious!! Defiantly will be trying some of those with my picky little eaters!!
Thanks Superfood Sisters 🙂
Dawn: I love the ‘make your own salads’ too! I should have included that one, so thanks for doing it for me.

We used to buy Poppyseed Dressing, but ever since finding and trying your recipe, we will never go back! Thank you so much for helping our family be healthier
I love all of these kid friendly recipes. I would love them even more if I knew how many servings each recipe made. I’m feeding nine kids daily, and never know if I should double or triple each recipe. If you have any ideas that would better help me to determine this I would be so grateful.
Wow Brittany! You’ve got your hands full. I will try to be better about serving sizes. My problem is actually, nibbling (or full on eating) while I prepare food, so the final product never is the full amount! I will be better! I promise!!
Your Salads look so delicious!
