Broccoli Dip (Lemon White Sauce)
My kids love to dip their vegetables. However, we always seem to revert back to ranch, and that’s only really that good when we have raw veggies. This broccoli dip was different, and perfect for steamed broccoli.
Is broccoli good for you?
- 245% of the daily value for Vitamin K
- 135% DV for Vitamin C
- Chromium
- Folate (in it’s natural form!)
- and fiber!
How to purchase broccoli:
When buying broccoli, look for a bright green color. Yellowing or blackening is a sign that the broccoli is going bad. The stalks should be firm and crispy, almost as if they’d snap in half if you bent them. If they are flexible, rubbery, or pliable, again, the broccoli is going bad and over ripe. Also, the flower buds should be tight and small, once they look like they’ve blossomed, they are over ripe.

Broccoli is one of the first veggies many kids will try and accept. While raw broccoli is great with some homemade ranch, cooked broccoli is delicious with a warm dipping sauce, like this one!

I will have to try this!
So far I’ve been using a delicious recipe my mom-in-law gave me to make broccoli tasty. The downfall: it’s not healthy.
But yours looks super! Thanks!
Definitely was tasty! Thanks for stopping by Artsy Simona!
I’m going to try this one this week! How long can you keep this in the fridge do you think?
KAMurray, I wouldn’t keep it longer than 2-3 days.
I prepared a large plate of raw veggies at any birthday party of my daughter, In France few decades ago, kids love the raw veggies , specially with dip. I avoid butter in general for the kid specially because the pediatricians in France were mentioning scientific studies showing butter increasing the risk of obesity.
