Need a gorgeous dish to serve at a party, gathering, or get-together?! I have just the thing! Pear and Pomegranate Salsa is sure to please and it looks gorgeous too. Fruit salsas are one of my very favorite dishes because I love that sweet and salty combo. Don’t feel like you have to skip salsa just because it’s winter, this salsa features seasonal ingredients!
What makes pomegranates so fun? Lots of people I know have never tried them so that makes it even more fun to bring them to a get-together. They are sweet but crunchy and just really pretty. Once you try them, you’ll keep coming back for more. I love the addition of pear to this recipe because, it’s sweet but still crunchy. The lime juice adds just the right amount of acid to go with the fruit and the cilantro and red onion bring in the savory salsa notes. You can add a little salt and pepper if you like but I would taste it on the chips you plan to serve it with. The chips I used were salty enough on their own and I didn’t feel like I needed to add more. If you’d like a little heat a finely diced jalapeno would be delicious in this too.

The measurements in the recipe are just guide, if you want more or less of something, feel free to play with it a bit. I also thought about adding some chopped avocado (because I adore avocado). I think I’m going to try it the next time I make this!

When it comes to serving this, you have a few options. You can make these easy homemade baked corn tortilla chips and if you are buying chips I like the Food Should Taste Good brand. They have lots of whole ingredients and are a great store-bought option (the multi-grain is pictures and I’m a huge fan of their sweet potato tortilla chips). This salsa is also excellent on fish or shrimp tacos or on top of sweet potato nachos. Enjoy!

- 1 cup pomegranate arils
- 1 large pear, chopped about 2 cups
- 1/4 cup finely chopped red onion
- 1/4 cup finely chopped cilantro
- 1 lime, juiced
- In a medium bowl combine all of the ingredients and stir until well combined. Serve right away or refrigerate until ready. Cover and store leftovers in the fridge for up to 3 days.
