Healthy and Dairy Free Blueberry Chia Popsicles. The perfect summer snack for healthy kids!

Welcome popsicle season! This is such a great time of the year because with the right mix of ingredient popsicles can turn into a powerhouse of a snack. When you plan and stock the freezer with healthy snacks, you can’t help but say yes when the kids come begging. Trust me on this one, homemade popsicles will make you neighborhood famous in no time and none of the kids will even know you are feeding them healthy snacks. Sometimes I even give these popsicles to my teething toddler when I can’t get him to eat anything else. He likes the cold in his mouth and I feel better knowing he’s getting something nutritious in.

Blueberry chia popsicles are a long time favorite in our house. The pretty purple color is pleasant to the eye and you can’t beat all the fiber packed into these pops. The chia seeds hide right along with the blueberry pieces and the kids don’t know they are there.

I love adding a little avocado to my smoothies and popsicles. If this is new to you, have no fear, you really cannot taste it! The avocado makes the texture extra smooth and creamy while adding some healthy fat. A little healthy fat, protein, fiber, and plenty of vitamins and minerals really makes this a power snack in my opinion. Kids are playing outdoors this time of year and always seem to be hungry. This is the perfect things to keep in the freezer for a quick snack!

If you’d like, throw in a handful of baby spinach to the mix before blending; blueberries are an excellent cover for leafy greens. If you have issues with almond milk you can also substitute cows milk, coconut milk, or other nut milk of your choosing. This is a very flexible recipe! Looking for more popsicle inspiration?
