Freeze Tag Yoga

A fun game to get active with your kids is Yoga Freeze tag! Learn how to play this game and teach your kids yoga poses along the way!

Here’s how it works:
- One child is “it“.
- The it child starts running to try to tag another player.
- If a player is tagged, they have to strike a yoga pose and hold it until another player touches them to release them from their frozen state.
- As soon as a player is tagged three times, they become “it”.
This is a great way to teach your kids some yoga poses. You can even play it indoors if the weather is bad. Kids are quite good at stretching and holding hard positions. Teach them just one or two new poses every time you play the game, and after a few times, they’ll have a whole slew of poses in their arsenal to use.

- If you need to come up with new yoga moves visit Yoga Journal to learn poses!

I voted for you!
My six year old did yoga in gym this week. He was so excited to show me the yoga poses he learned. His favorite is tree!
I just visited your blog for the first time and really love it. I wish I had seen this before. I’ll definitely be back for more.
Amy: Thanks for featuring my most favorite veteran. I miss him a lot. It’s nice to see him through modern technology.
thanks Christy and Michele.
Mom- It’s great we can all share the videos online now.
I love how you involved your kids with yoga. Wouldn’t it be great if all kids ate healthy and exercised? It is up to us as parents to make this happen. I am trying to cook healthy and exercise more with my kids. Thanks.
2 things. Your kids are so creative at tag; they have more versions than I’ve ever seen! Seriously, I watch them get these games started every day at the bus stop. They involve everyone, all are laughing and having a great time, and friendships have developed.
Also, my son’s Kindergarten teacher has the kids do yoga on the days when they don’t make it outside for recess. YEA for daily excercise at school, in an area where it’s starting to fade! I was so thrilled to hear this! 🙂

I teach preschool and I used some of your yoga pictures into a lesson in ABC Yoga.
