How to Make Protein Bites

The key to making a really delicious protein bite is a food processor. A food processor has the ability to blend all of the ingredients into a really smooth mixture and gives your protein bite and amazing texture.

You can use a blender if you don’t have a food processor, but it my experience you have to add more liquid and the end product doesn’t turn out as well.

To make these double fudge brownie batter protein bites:

  • In the bowl of a food processor, add the dates, almond butter, and honey. Process until well combined. If the mixture isn’t smooth, scrape down the sides and add 1 tsp of water and continue processing. Be careful not to add too much water because it will make the dough too sticky.
  • Add cocoa and protein powder and continue processing until fully combined.
Add chocolate chips to the dough and mix by hand until they are evenly distributed. Use a small cookie scoop to divide dough into 12 portions of dough. Roll each portion into a ball. Place bites in fridge to set. Store in an airtight container for up to 2 weeks.

That is it! You can whip up a batch of these in just 10 minutes. Cravings be gone!

Hi Natalie
Just wanted to know, what can i substitute the chocolate whey protein for please ? As my baby is 1 yr old, and i am not planning to give her protein powder as yet.

Thank you

We don’t recommend it as a primary source of protein, but it’s a great way to boost their intake in recipes like these!
