Maple Glazed Pork Chops with Sweet Potatoes
Sweet Maple Glazed Pork Chops with Sweet Potatoes baked up in the oven as your pork chops cook! This is the perfect fall dinner with all the flavors of the leaves turning and settling on the ground.

I’ll be honest, I’ve never been a huge fan of pork chops. But these have changed my mind! Maple glazed is the way to go and the little bit of tomato paste in the sauce works perfectly!
Why will your Kids Eat these Maple Glazed Pork Chops with Sweet Potatoes?
My first tip is to use the boneless pork chops, this will make it easier for your cute kiddos to eat when dinner time rolls around. They’ll love these because the maple glaze is just sweet enough and the potatoes are soft and a fun bright shade of orange.

My plate needed a pop of green, so I threw together a quick salad. Even though potatoes are a vegetable I tend to eat more fruits as snacks so I felt okay double up on the veggies for dinner.

The Sticky Choices
Whenever you bake or cook with maple syrup make sure it’s pure maple syrup! The pancake syrup is chocked full of corn syrup, dyes, and other artificial ingredients that you don’t want anything to do with.

Po-TAY-to, Po-TAH-to
Sweet potatoes come in many varieties, I chose to go with yams because I love the bright orange color! But even if your family isn’t a fan of sweet potatoes, any type of potato will do! Just chop them up in 1-inch or smaller pieces, mix onion, olive oil, and spices and pop in the oven! Sheet pan/casserole sides are one of my favorites because they can easily cook up in the oven while the main dish simmers away. Less fuss more family time!

This recipe makes four pork chops and unless your kids are teenagers they probably won’t eat an entire chop. Good thing, because you’re going to want to have their leftovers after you read them their bedtime story!

Maple Glazed Pork Chops and Sheet Pan Sweet Potatoes
Ingredients
Potatoes
- 3 medium sweet potato
- 1/2 medium onion
- 2 tablespoon olive oil
- 1/4 teaspoon paprika
- 1/4 teaspoon oregano, dried
- 3/4 teaspoon salt
Instructions
- Sweet Potatoes: (We'll do these first so they come out of the oven at the same time the pork is ready.) Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Peel sweet potatoes (I used yams) and chop into 3/4-inch pieces. Chop half an onion. Place potatoes and onion in a bowl and add olive oil, paprika, oregano and salt. Stir until coated and then pour out onto a cookie sheet and bake for 40-50 minutes or until tender.
- Meanwhile, in a separate bowl, combine maple syrup, tomato paste, soy sauce, cider vinegar, minced garlic and ginger. Set aside.
- Drizzle olive oil in a pan over medium-high heat and add pork chops. Cook on each side for 4-5 minutes or until cooked through.
- Reduce heat to low and add sauce to the pan. Cook for an additionally 2-3 minutes, continually spooning sauce over the chops to make a sticky coating.
- Serve hot with roasted sweet potatoes on the side, and a green salad.

Does your nutritional facts include everything? The pork, sweet potatoes and salad?
Hi Lauren, yes! It’s all included in the calculation.
Really liked this recipe. Just wondering if there is anything that can be added to give the potatoes more flavour or more of? Thank you.
Hi Tara, feel free to toss the potatoes with any dry spice mixture you like. You could try chili powder, cumin, cinnamon, or salt and pepper.
Was wondering how the time to cook the pork will be different when using bone in chops? It’s what I have in my fridge now. Thanks!
You may need to cook them a bit longer Anabelle. We use a quick-read thermometer to be sure they’re done.
Made the pork chops with just a baked sweet potato. Still trying to figure how to calculate my calories. But the sauce tastes great
This maple glaze pork chop and sweet potato recipe was very easy to prepare – and a crowdpleaser for the kids! Parents thought it was delicious too!
Glad to hear it! Thanks for sharing!! 🙂
Made this for my partner and I when we were running out of ingredients to cook before a grocery run. We just happened to have all of these ingredients on hand! This was delicious! I can’t speak for the veggies because we only made the chops, but am very pleased!
Outstanding recipe! My husband and I were almost licking our plates! Loved that it used maple syrup instead of brown or white sugar. This is a keeper!
