Sweet, juicy watermelon frozen 3 different ways making a refreshing treat all Summer long!

Watermelon Sorbet 3 Ways. Sweet, healthy and delicious. www.superhealthykids.com

I haul watermelons out of my trunk and into the house all. summer. long.

I don’t mind it. It counts as weightlifting. But truly, my entire family is ravenous for this perfect summer treat. We can chow through three in a week. (No joke, people.) Watermelon is one of my favorite parts of summer. It’s hydrating, sweet, and healthy.

I wanted to create a brilliant frozen treat for my crew using our favorite melon. Now presenting – watermelon sorbet in three bright and refreshing flavors.

The Classic Watermelon Sorbet doesn’t have any added sugar. It’s just pureed watermelon with a squeeze of lime.

The Creamy Watermelon Sorbet is one heaping cup watermelon cubes, one large frozen banana, and a squeeze of lime. It’s creamy and totally perfect after the pool.

Finally, check out the Strawberry Watermelon Sorbet. This one is tangy and pairs perfectly with a scoop of the Creamy Watermelon Sorbet.

All you need to do is process the ingredients in a blender or food processor and scoop into anything that can fit into your freezer. I used loaf pans and all three fit nicely in my freezer. If you don’t have a lot of time you can speed up the process if you use all frozen fruit. It only took about an hour for it all to set when I used frozen watermelon cubes, bananas, and strawberries.

This is also a perfect recipe to prep ahead of time and then pull it out for the grand finale at your summer party. It’s okay if your summer party is just you and the kids in dripping swim suits on the back porch. I hope you have a brilliant end to your summer. Keep lifting watermelon weights and try this recipe for my Watermelon Mint Lemonade. It’s crazy delicious and screams summer. You’ll absolutely want to make it for one of those drippy-swimming-suit-back-porch parties.

How do you prevent your sorbet from becoming a lick of ice which then feels like you’re eating ice crystals?

Thanks!

Hi Arati, make sure you break up the sorbet really well when you first pull it out of the freezer (before you re-freeze.) If the ice crystals are still too pronounced when you pull it out again to serve, you can let it partially thaw for about 15 minutes for a juicier sorbet. I hope this helps!
