Frozen Peanut Butter Berry Pops Recipe
While I was pregnant with my daughter, I actually took time to sit and read “fun” things that were not school and research related. One of my favorites was Parents magazine and I found a lot of great meal and snack ideas there. One particular recipe I had kept was for frozen peanut butter berry pops.
The day before our afternoon treat was to be enjoyed, I asked for my children’s assistance in washing some of their play cups. Naturally an odd look overcame both of them. My son says, “The ones we play with?” I simply replied, “yup!” So they grabbed a few and washed them well. We also got our ice cube tray for mini treats!

Why am I using such tiny molds and my children’s toys, none-the-less? Why not! I thought it would be super cute and just something that is fun and inexpensive. In addition to the kids cups, I used another mold that I found last summer in the grocery store for which I believe was only three to four dollars. For another idea, I have been seeing a lot of bloggers using the containers that yogurt is packaged in as their mold as well. As far as sticks are concerned you can use wooden popsicle sticks, straws or spoons. Ask your children to help out with ideas because I am sure they will have some great ones. You can make popsicles in any container! You can even use Zipzicle Ice Pop Molds to make this treat.
Sshh…and guess what? I actually let them have one after breakfast since that’s when I was snapping the pics. A little extra calcium and antioxidants won’t hurt, right?
If you get 12 popsicles from this recipe, then each popsicle will have 6 grams of protein!
- 1/2 cup peanut butter, all-natural
- 1 cup yogurt, plain
- 1 cup almond milk, unsweetened
- 2 tablespoon honey
- 1 cup raspberries
- 2 cup orange juice
- 1 ounce hemp seeds
- Blend nut butter, yogurt, milk and honey until smooth. Pour the mixture into molds until they are filled half way or even one-third of the way. I had filled a few with solely this mixture as requested by my son. Cover and freeze for approximately one hour.
- Next, stir together the raspberries and juice, divide among your molds and then insert the sticks. Top off the pops with some hemp seed if desired, or sprinkle hemp seeds between the layers.
- Cover and place back in the freezer until completely frozen. This can take a few hours and up to 6-8 hours depending on how large your mold is.
