FroYo Bites

My girls love yogurt.  Greek, Store Brand, Expensive Brand, Vanilla, Plain, Gogurt - you name it they love it.  With one exception -  my 3 year old does not like it when it has fruit chunks.  Unfortunately for me, I just bought a big pack of Yoplait fruit variety at Costco that she won't eat.  Boo.  I personally don't love the fruit chunks in yogurt either.  Hmmm.  Its strange, I love yogurt, and I love fruit.  Must be a texture thing.  I do like popsicles that have fruit frozen in them though.  So I decided to make frozen yogurt bites.  And let me tell you, these are delicious, fruit chunks and all.

I used a cake decorating tool to squeeze the yogurt into this mini ice cube tray, but you could also use a spoon.

Freeze for a couple of hours and you will have your FroYo bites!  Now, you can eat these just plain - they are delicious and refreshing.

Or you can dress them up a bit, and have FroYo Bite Dippers.  We dipped ours in homemade granola, wheat germ and flax seeds.  The wheat germ was our favorite.

I was trying to think of other toppings that would be good to dip these in.  Crushed almonds I think would be really good too.

I guess it is kind of like a mini Fruit and Yogurt Parfait on a Stick.  What do you like in your parfaits?  What else could you dip these in?

I love this idea! I think our "dollar" store has mini ice cube trays! The kids love yogurt here too. It would be fun to freeze some for warm days this summer (as an alternative to ice cream). Thanks for sharing!

How awesome, I know my son would love these! I make a similar frozen treat, as a lollipop - I got it off of Australia's taste.com website. They are delicious!http://www.taste.com.au/recipes/3378/frozen+yoghurt+lollipops

Jessy - Ikea sells silicone ice cube trays that are different shapes which would be fun. Thanks for sharing Kristen - those look good too!

Never thought about doing this thanks for the idea, awesome post by the way. I too don't like the texture with the fruits in them, I just don't get it.

Could you throw the yogurt in a blender?

You could also put it in a plastic bag, cut a hole in the corner and squeeze it into the holes that way.

You could also use a zip lock bag just cutting one of the corners off :)
