Ingredients
3mediumGranny Smith applespeeled, cored and sliced (about 1/4" thick)
2mediumHoneycrisp or Gala applespeeled, cored and sliced (about 1/4" thick)
1/2cupsalted caramel sauce (storebought or homemade)plus extra for drizzling
1/2tspflaky or kosher saltoptional
Instructions
Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Lightly grease an 8x8-inch baking dish.
In a large bowl, toss the sliced apples with granulated sugar, 1 tsp of cinnamon, and the lemon juice. Add 1/2 cup salted caramel sauce and stir until well coated. Pour apples into the prepared baking dish.
In a separate medium sized bowl, combine oats, flour, brown sugar, remaining 1 tsp cinnamon, and nuts (if using). Add cold butter cubes and use a pastry cutter or your fingers to mix until coarse crumbs form.
Sprinkle the oat topping evenly over the apples. Bake, uncovered, for 40-50 minutes or until topping is golden brown and the apples are bubbly and soft.
Remove from the oven and allow to rest for 10 minutes before serving. Drizzle with additional salted caramel sauce and sprinkle with flaky salt.
