Ingredients

Optional Orange Glaze

  • 1 cup powdered sugar
  • 2-3 tbsp fresh orange juice
  • 1 tsp orange zest optional

Instructions

  • Preheat oven to 350°F. Grease and line a loaf pan (8x4 or 9x5) with parchment paper.
  • In a bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder and salt.
  • In a large bowl, beat butter and sugar until light and fluffy (about 2–3 minutes).
  • Mix in eggs one at a time. Add orange zest, orange juice, and vanilla.
  • Alternate adding dry ingredients and milk (or sour cream), mixing just until combined.
  • Pour batter into prepared loaf pan. Bake for 45–55 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted comes out clean.
  • Let cake cool in pan for 10 minutes, then transfer to a wire rack.
  • If desired, whisk glaze ingredients and drizzle over cooled cake. Slice and enjoy!
