Crispy Parmesan Asparagus Fries are oven-baked, golden, and kid-friendly! Made with panko and fresh Parmesan, this easy 30-minute recipe is the perfect healthy side or appetizer.
Preheat oven to 425°F. Line a baking sheet with parchment paper. For extra crispiness, place a wire rack on top.
Set up breading session. To three shallow bowls, add:Flour lightly seasoned with salt and pepperBeaten eggs mixed with 1 teaspoon water Breadcrumbs, parmesan, garlic powder, salt, and pepper
Pat asparagus dry. Dredge each spear in flour (shake off excess), dip into egg mixture, then press firmly into the panko mixture to fully coat.
Place asparagus in a single layer on the rack or baking sheet with space between each spear. Lightly spray tops with olive oil or cooking spray.
Bake on the middle rack for 7 minutes. Move to the lower rack and bake another 5–8 minutes until golden and crispy. Rotate the pan midway for even browning.
Let cool for about 2 minutes before serving. Top with a squeeze of lemon or lime juice if desired. Serve with ranch, garlic aioli, honey mustard, or a yogurt-based dip.
