Mix together in a sauce pan, the water, milk, salt and vanilla. Bring to a boil, then add oats. Bring to a boil again, continue cooking for 10-15 minutes, by simmering on low heat.
Each serving is topped with individually desired add-ins. Although there are only a few here, make this morning fun by placing out more fruit, yogurt, maybe some almond milk or even chocolate soy milk. Its whatever your little (or big!) individual tastes love.
