Super Poppy Seed Fruit Salad

fruit salad for kids from super healthykids

Growing up, we had a food tradition. Every holiday we ate “Grandma’s Salad.”  It had basically two ingredients. A can of fruit cocktail and whipped topping (Cool Whip).  I actually still love that salad, but it can be a little healthier, don’t you think?   This fruit salad is a perfect substitute for me and my kids.

Super Poppy Seed Fruit Salad Recipe

  • 1/2 cup chopped strawberries
  • 1/2 cup sliced grapes
  • 1/4 cup fresh blueberries
  • 1/2 cup mandarin orange segments
  • 1/3 cup Greek Style plain yogurt
  • 1 tablespoon honey
  • 1/4 teaspoon poppy seeds

Mix all the fruit in a bowl.  Blend the yogurt, honey and poppy seeds in a separate bowl.  Pour yogurt mixture over the fruit.  Chill until ready to serve.

Yum, Yum!  My kids were licking the bowl.
