  • 1 cup barley, pearled, dry
  • 4 cup water
  • 1 teaspoon cinnamon
  • 1/4 teaspoon cloves, ground
  • 1 cup blueberries
  • 1 cup cranberries, dried
  • 1/4 cup sliced almonds


  • Place water and barley into a slow cooker; add cinnamon and ground cloves; cook on low for 6-8 hours (so, turn it on just before going to bed).
  • Upon serving add blueberries, dried cranberries and a small amount of sliced almonds.
