Ingredients

  • 4 medium – sweet potato
Toppings:
  • 1 tablespoon – butter, unsalted
  • 1 teaspoon – salt
  • 1 teaspoon – cinnamon

Directions

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F.
  2. Scrub the skin of the sweet potatoes, then place all into an oven-safe pan (a cake pan works great).
  3. Bake just until softened (1-2 hours depending on the size of the potatoes); if the potato gives in to your squeeze, it's done.
  4. Remove potato skins if desired. Split open potatoes and mash the insides.
  5. Add butter, salt, and/or cinnamon to taste.
Sweet potatoes are very forgiving. If you have other foods in the oven, you can just bake them along at whatever temperature is needed. Just remember, adjusting the temperature will also affect the cooking time.
