Pomegranate Power!

Pomegranate juice

POM Wonderful

pomegranate juice

We have used our pomegranate juice for a few things.  It tastes like grape juice according to the flip-flopper.  So we brought it on a hike. What a better way to hydrate and get energy than gatorade or any other fake drink.  I’ve been putting it in our smoothies all week, and I froze a little juice for ice cubes.  Then, because we love the size of the bottles and the shape, we recycled them and used them for water bottles!!!  LOVED IT.

Now for the fabulous give-away!! Pomegranate juice can get a bit pricey for struggling budgets, but I have 4 coupons for a FREE 16 oz bottle of juice, and 4 coupons for a free 16 oz bottle of pomegranate tea.  (We have not tried the tea because my family doesn’t drink tea), but if you do, you’ll love this coupon.  So for 4 lucky winners, I will send one of each coupon to your house. You have Friday and Saturday to enter, and I will pick a winner on Sunday.  Enter the comments what you would do with the juice if you won:  Drink it straight, make smoothies, make popsicles, put it in your food storage, bake something with one of the recipes on the POM  site,  or hide it in your secret stash so you don’t have to share it with the kids… Anything you want.

I would give my toddler a big straw to see if she would drink it. If that didn’t work, I would try to mix it in her cereal or yogurt. If all else failed, my husband and I would gulp it up!

I would save it for the first really depressing day in January… when Christmas is over, the snow is annoying, it’s dark at 5:00 pm, THAT is so depressing to me… so bring on the pomegranate juice baby! What a great way to beat the winter blues!

Is it pure fruit or is some form of sugar added? I would love to have some, but I’ll opt out so someone else can win it. Love, mom

3 out of 4 of my kiddos love POM. But you are right it is pricey. I would love to win some. We would drink it straight up. Thanks for sharing. 🙂

We would just drink it, and see if we like it. We drink very little juice, but it sounds like this would be great. We recently tried a Cran-Pomegranate 100% juice for the first time and it was good.

i hope the coupons are good for Canadians too! I LOVE pomegranates. It has got to be one of the best fruits ever. The dark color is also very attractive.

I would probably just drink it, or make smoothies. But popsicles DO sound like a great idea!

I’d have to drink some first and then decide if we’ll use it for smoothies or just keep drinkin’ it striaght. Maggie loves juice. This might be a good way for hubby to get some fruit in his diet. Pick us!

We’d drink it straight! My kids even drink unsweetened cranberry juice without flinching. And anything that can help avoid the family history of heart disease, well, I’m all for it!

Yum, I grew up on pomegranates! My grandma used to send us a big box of them every year and we’d make pomegranate jelly. I would totally LOVE to drink the juice! I hope I win!

I went to the Pom website you linked to and there are lots of yummy-looking recipes that I would like to try. Because it is a little pricey, I would most likely use the juice in one of those recipes.

Oh wow! Just saw this at Costco and wished I could afford it. We would probably drink it straight, and maybe do a few smoothies.
Thank you!

I LOVE POMEGRANATES! My husband makes homemade slushies with koolaid, which I don’t like. But I would LOVE to use POM W. juice to make a decent slushie for once. I don’t know where, but I’ve seen a restaurant slushy where it was all this frothy, slushy-ness with a dollop of whipped cream on top. Mmm! Not good for you, but the mellowness of the cream would be a good compliment to the tang in the POM juice.
Pick Me!

P.S. I dreamed about this giveaway all night last night.
Me: “Remember to check Amy’s blog when you get up. Remember to check Amy’s blog tomorrow.”

Mmm . . .I’d mix it with club soda and fresh lemon juice and a teensy bit of sugar and have sparkling pomegranate lemonade.

That sounds fantastic.

I would drink it straight and make smoothies (that’s my dessert most of the time)….and for the kids, I’d make popsicles and send them outside to eat (maybe naked!)

My mom used to send me to school with half a pomegranate in my lunch because I loved them so much. I can’t believe how brave she was. 🙂

I just bought my fist pomegranate of the season yesterday. They were one of the first things my daughter started eating last year and she loved them. So now that she’s 19 months old, I might think about adding it to a smoothie or maybe just mixing it in with her yogurt for breakfast. :o) I would also let my husband have some since he LOVES pom, but we can’t afford to have it regularly!

I hope this does not come across as a bit inappropriate given this is a health-oriented blog, but I’ve “heard” that pomegranate martinis are really, really good. So, I’d mix-up an anti-aging martini to kick-back and relax with after the kids are safe and sound in bed and then in the morning I’d add the remaining juice to my children’s favorite smoothie – just think how happy everyone in the family will feel!

sounds great to try. i would probably just drink it straight. with a cute bottle like that… what else would you do?

I’m a medical student trying to eat healthy on a budget, so I would drink the juice straight up considering all the nutritional value and delighting in the wonderful taste. Hopefully it will set a good example for my patients and keep me entertained while studying.

I love, love, love the lychee green tea! As for the juice, I sneak a little bit into recipes and the kids cups of juice. They would probably drink it straight but I haven’t tried that yet. Thanks for the chance to win!!!

We love pomegranates, but they are only available certain times, so this would be great for year round enjoyment!

Oh, this is fun! I would love to be able to save it for a special occasion but honestly that would never happen here. We love pomegranate juice and would drink it straight from the bottle.

I will go to Sonic and buy a cup of pebble ice (because pebble ice is the BEST) and pour the juice over it and enjoy a nice POM instead of my usual DP and feel so good and healthy

I love pomegranates and used to eat them as a kid. I have yet to try the juice though. I’d love to try it and see if my kids would too.

I would find smoothie and ice pop recipies to make for my husband who is going thru radiation and chemo for lung cancer. Trying to find healthy ideas for fruit and vegetables that are easy to swallow and digest.

Pomegranate Benefits not only destroys free radicals, but they also have anti-aging properties and works best on oily and combination skin.
