Turkey Wrap for a Healthy Lunch Box

These delicious turkey wraps are the perfect post Thanksgiving meal for using up any leftover turkey. The spread, cranberry sauce and cream cheese, help the wrap stay closed tightly without the use of toothpicks.  You can cram them into a bento style box, and they’ll stay wrapped till lunch!

All the food groups are represented in this lunch.  There is no need to send loads of food to school.

Turkey Wrap

  • Whole Wheat Wrap
  • 1 tablespoon Cranberry Sauce
  • 1 tablespoon Cream cheese spread, light
  • Turkey
  • Zucchini ribbons
  • Yellow squash ribbons
  • Avocados

Picky Eater Tip!

It isn’t necessary to put all the ingredients in this wrap. Let your kids help you make it and have them choose one of the vegetables if they are particularly picky!  Leave out the cranberry sauce if they don’t like the color.  Leave out the zucchini strip if that makes them upset.  Let them have ownership over their wrap while giving them a choice? “Want yellow squash or green zucchini today?”

BONUS: Cuties are finally in season! We are all super excited!

[…] Lunch Time Doldrums Part of my job that I wasn’t expecting is monitoring lunches to make sure every child eats. The most successful eaters in my class usually have a few things in common. A fun lunch case to use (try Bento mealtime Kit or Double Decker Mealbox, and food presented in fun ways. Kids always seem to love wraps and it’s a fast way to keep them entertained. I liked this turkey, cream cheese, cranberry sauce recipe and recommend looking at the Super Healthy Kids Blog, as they have so many creative ideas.
