Thanksgiving brings delicious food, family and friends together. It can also bring overeating! Or solution to this is to have plenty of fruits and vegetables on the menu! Fruits and vegetables don’t weigh you down like some of the heavier foods we eat on Thanksgiving. This is a fun simple, and light appetizer to start off your Thanksgiving feasting. Easy to prepare, can be done in advance, and fun for the kids.
The key to this appetizer is to prevent your apples from turning brown.
Slice your apples using an apple slicer or a good old fashioned knife.
To prevent browning, there are a couple different methods. Check this post out to decide which method. I used lemon juice because I love the tart flavor it gives.
Arrange your apples in a fan shape like a turkey tail. Place every other apple up and then down.
Serve with your favorite fruit dip, and add a beak and eyes! We love this peanut butter yogurt dip.
