Ultimate Smoothie Recipe Round Up

Thank you for sending me your smoothie combinations during my last smoothie post! They all sound delicious, and my children are drowning in orange juice smoothies as we've tested and tried them.

Every recipe here we tried, we used Tropicana 100% Pure Florida Orange Juice. Last time I posted about Tropicana, I had some questions on Facebook questioning the purity of the OJ. Here is the truth, according to Tropicana:

What's in the juice comes from the orange and nothing more. It's a few steps from orange to OJ and the main ones are: the fruit is picked at the height of readiness; we extract the essential oils from the peel and squeeze the juice; it's gently pasteurized and chilled; it's blended for consistent quality and taste, and then it's packaged in cartons or safe-stored for packaging at a later date. We ensure the most consistent, high-quality product by blending 100% juice and the oils and essences found in the orange -- similar to when you use orange zest in recipes. We simply extract the best flavor.

It's the real thing! It tastes great, and it's all grown in Florida. Tropicana has openly shared information about their oranges as well as their orange groves, the farmers, and the natural environment they are grown in. Mitch Willis, an orange buyer who visited the grove shared this story:

"We were in a grove and we saw alligators, we saw deer, and then we drove to another part and we saw wild pigs," he recalls. "There was a point when they just leaned over to me and said, 'We're not on a grove tour, we're on a safari.'"

"Tropicana's Florida groves are remarkably vital natural habitats for a wide range of creatures. It's not the least bit uncommon to encounter wild turkeys, coyotes, bobcats, panthers, turtles, ducks, deer, eagles, hogs, raccoons and countless other animals roaming the grove, often completely unfazed by humans nearby."

We started the healthy smoothies with our family about 4 months ago. My kids will now even drink it with spinach ( this is HUGE for our family). We have a very inexpensive little blender which I don't think wil be lasting much longer. I was wondering if you guys have a recommendation for a couple of good blenders. :) THANKS so much. LOVE YOU site

@Netty If you want to invest some money, Vitamix makes a great blender. My parents have one and I love it. It's pricey though. I love the Magic Bullet except the motor doesn't seem to last very long. I've actually wound up buying three Magic Bullets over 5 years because I love it so much. If anyone else has a recommendation for something similar (single serve, doubles as the cup, blends very well)), I'd love to try it.

Every single smoothie looks mouth watering, but I particularly look forward to trying 'Tammy's Blue Smoothie' - think the kids will love it! Thanks!

I'm with you!! I've had a few magic bullets, and love them for small stuff, but they don't last long!

I tried Tammys Blue Smoothie but I dont think you need to add Blueberry flavored yogurt when you already have fresh blueberrie. There is too much sugar in flavored yogurts. Thats the only change I would make. Substitute real fruit for the flavored yogurt.

Thanks Amy, I have to try these. I particularly like the look of Marcie's Double Green Smoothie. What blender do you recommend? I like the Blendtech ICB3 and I have done a review of it on my site.

Hi Dan. I have no preference in blenders. I use a vitamix because I'm borrowing my sisters, but I would be SUPER SUPER SUPER happy to have my own vitamix or blendtec. Blendtec is actually a local company here, so I'm leaning towards that.
