Healthy Restaurant Food and New Meal Plan
My kids think they are severely mistreated by the fact that we never eat out. I should clarify with, we never eat out locally. I tell them, "why would we pay someone to make our food from a box of frozen fake foods, when I can make real food at home?" The exception to my staunch aversion to eating out of course is while we are on vacation. Sometimes I try to get a hotel with a kitchen, and we make lots of grocery store stops, but there are some places, and some days where it isn't possible.
This is why I'm so excited about the Hyatt's kids menu! Focusing on fresh, local, and organic meals this hotels options for children are awesome.
My kids were invited to the Hyatt Escala Lodge in Park City to try out their new menu for kids. While all the food on this menu looks appealing to me, I really wanted them to try the shaken salad or the salad k-bob. They didn't. They chose the sub sandwich. Which is fine, and they did love it and almost ate the entire thing. I loved that chicken nuggets and fries weren't even on the menu for choosing! Definitely easier to avoid that fight.
The sandwich the kids ate was made from a big slab of cracked wheat bread that literally melted in your mouth! Seriously, it had to have been made that day.![]()
From the adult menu, Wade ordered the plank salmon, and I got the veggie panini wrap.
The kids got to meet the chef. I was going to ask him for the recipe for the cracked wheat bread they brought out, because it was so amazing. But apparently it came from a local bakery. So, no recipe for me. But the chef did comment on Hyatt's efforts to buy their food locally and making it fresh. Which I appreciated. No frozen fake foods for them.
We also were impressed with the prices on the menu! Also, you don't have to be a hotel guest to eat there. Which is awesome, because I think we are still a few years away from being able to afford such an amazing hotel! So, next time you are on vacation and looking for some wholesome, real food eating options, find out if there is a Hyatt nearby and visit for lunch or dinner.
So, because we can't be pampered like that every day, here is our meal plan for the week.
