Family Fun Magazine and Meal Plans

Today was exciting for me as I noticed the March issue of Family Fun at Target!  I had heard they featured my plates on page 37, I turned straight there, and there it was!  Thank you Family Fun! This is the best day ever!

Family-Fun-March-2012

For those that are new to Super Healthy Kids, here is a little background:  I started this blog in 2007 to sell some kids plates I had designed. My intention in making the plates was to teach good nutrition through balanced meals for kids! Then, when I enjoyed blogging so much, the plates became the side-gig, while the majority of my time was spent writing recipes for the blog. The last 5 years have been wonderful and amazing, and I'm happy with the course I took to focus on blogging, while selling plates as well.

Last summer, my one plate, grew to 4 plates after the USDA came out with their MyPlate.  In 2011 I was able to sell 10,000 plates (thanks to the USDA's new icon). Now, I have an entire garage full of dishes!

This was 1 year ago (with a shipment of 2000):

Then, as of today (I just got 20,000 on Thursday)

plates

Yikes! I think I'm going to need a new house soon Smile

Here are my plates that I sell as of today:

Anyway- That's a little history of Super Healthy Kids!  I'm still posting weekend meal plan ideas, so here is one for next week!

The only bad thing about your plates are they are made in China. I only buy stuff made in the U.S. A.

Sara: Do you know a manufacturer in the US that molds melamine? I couldn't find one. Plus I love the people in China. They are good people.

Sara - I would love to take a tour of your house sometime and point out everything that is made in China, Japan, Korea, Vietnam, Mexico, India, etc... I'm sure that Amy has looked into making her plates in the US, but just like thousands of other companies, they found out that our current government's laws and outrageous regulations almost force companies to seek elsewhere for manufacturing their product. My family loves the plates, and thank Amy and her hard work and dedication.
