Cinnamon Apple Mash Recipe

Mornings are getting colder around here, which is perfect for oatmeal!  We like to mix up our oatmeal toppings, and this apple cinnamon oatmeal is just what the kids ordered.

Cinnamon Apple Mash. This mash is a tasty way to warm up!

Cinnamon Apple Mash Recipe

  • 1 cup rolled oats
  • 1 cup milk
  • 1 cup water
  • 1 tablespoon agave
  • 1 apple, chopped
  • 1 teaspoon cinnamon

In saucepan, combine oats with milk, water, agave, chopped apples and cinnamon.  Heat until oats begins to boil.  Reduce heat to low, and let it simmer for 2-3 minutes while continuing to stir.

  • Health bonus!! Leave the apple skin on!  There is fiber and vital nutrients on the skin and just below the skins surface.  Peeling it takes away some of these great benefits.  For this oatmeal, wash the apple thoroughly and then chop it with the skin.

You have great ideas for the kiddos. I am so glad I found you on the internet. Keep up the great work.

I’m guessing that apple piece cut in the shape of a flower was a big hit! I never think of doing cute things like that. We’re looking forward to a trip to the apple orchard soon and will need some new apple ideas.
